Contributed to the construction of large-scale petroleum storage tanks at the Burnaby Terminal, located atop Burnaby Mountain as part of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Project. Serving as a lead hand and supervisor, responsibilities included overseeing crews involved in the fabrication and assembly of tank barrels while coordinating field operations to maintain safety, quality, and schedule requirements. Work involved performing SMAW welding, fabrication, and ironworking procedures on structural steel components, interpreting blueprint drawings, and directing crews during installation activities. The role also included rigging and assisting with heavy crane lifts for major infrastructure components such as electrical buildings, vessels, bridges, and structural steel platforms. The facility serves as a key storage hub featuring 26 tanks with a combined capacity of approximately 5.5 million barrels of crude and refined petroleum products.
