North Arrow Lake Ferry Retrofit & Terminal Structural Repairs
Chinook Welding Ltd. was engaged to support the shutdown and retrofit of the North Arrow Lake ferry, delivering specialized marine welding and on-site fabrication services in British Columbia.
As part of the vessel upgrade scope, our team completed the removal of existing vehicle ramp components using carbon arc gouging and precision cutting methods. Following demolition, we carried out the layout, fitting, and rigging of newly fabricated ramp structures, working closely with crane operators to coordinate safe and efficient installation onboard the ferry.
All welding was performed using our fully equipped mobile welding rig, including all-position structural welding during assembly and installation. This ensured the new ramp system met the strength, durability, and performance requirements expected in demanding marine and ferry service environments.
In addition to vessel work, Chinook Welding partnered with Bracewell Marine Group to complete structural docking repairs at the terminal. Our team provided on-site marine welding services to restore and reinforce key infrastructure components, improving the reliability and longevity of the docking system.
This project highlights our capability to deliver mobile welding, marine fabrication, and structural steel repair across BC, supporting both active marine operations and critical infrastructure upgrades.
